2001 Georgia State Music Hall of Fame Alan Jackson was born on October 17, 1958 in Newnan, Georgia. He has enjoyed great success during the 1990's and 2000's as one of country music's most popular singers. He has received and been nominated for many awards. He moved to Nashville with his wife hoping to start a career in music and eventually signed a contract with Arista.
