Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd Band consisted of band members Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins, Bob Burns, Gary Rossington, and Larry Junstrom . While in high school, their gym teacher, Leonard Skinner, often passed out suspensions for their long hair. While playing at a local high school, after dropping out, the band jokingly said their name was The Leonard Skinner Band. The joke received cheers and laughs from the audience. Changing a few letters, the band became known as the "Lynyrd Skynyrd Band".
